Just wanted to make a last minute announcement about a performance of Gavin Bryars’ “The Sinking of the Titanic” that I will be appearing in on violin with CiCLOP (Cincinnati Composers Laptop Orchestra Project). The performance will take place tomorrow, May 8, 2012 in the CCM Atrium (Mary Emery Hall) at noon. The piece incorporates 9 laptops, live string quartet, percussion, and video. Our performance coincides with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the ship on April 15, 1912. Hope to see some of you there!

Current Projects
Currently I am attending the Brevard Music Center as a composition fellow. It feels great to be back in the mountains of Western North Carolina and doing lots of writing. Within the past six weeks I’ve written and premiered a new art song “In Praise of Songs That Die”, a piece for solo violin and electronics “The Sods”, a trio for violin, clarinet, and piano, and a new work for orchestra that will be read by the Brevard Music Center Orchestra on August 5th, 2011. I’m also finishing the score for the new film “Decapitated Chicken” by filmmaker Damiano Cinque, looking forward to the premiere!
